Public Comments at a DEQ Hearing for Lower
Scott Lake's Permit to dredge The citizens of Lee Township in
Allegan County have been fighting the owners of summer cottages on Lower
Scott Lake from dredging their arsenic laden bottom over unto a
containment area that they want to convert to a super landfill, 2 miles
wide x 10 miles long affectively killing our county. If this area can be
contaminated to a certain point, under both state federal law it can
only be used as a landfill. Evidence obtained through a FOIA request to
Lansing was presented at the hearing showing that Kameron Jordan and
Dwight conspired with their testing to get the original permit. This
arsenic is being placed into an unsealed containment site that is 200
ft. from the nearest well. People live around this area, and the DEQ
does absolutely nothing to protect them.
Elections Karen
Wellman gives a very powerful argument against Tom Jessup, my opponent
for county commissioner in the 2006 election after he tries to make the
argument that nothing was wrong with the election, and that the county
should not allow me to have a recount under Michigan Law.
Elections Chris
Thomas, Director of the Bureau of Elections, states to the
Michigan Board of Election Canvassers at the meeting to approve the 2006
General Election, that individuals conducting the election
cannot take it on their own to count the ballots manually. Four out of
four precincts that I counted the Secretary of State's race all showed
differences of 3 to 5.5% greater in favor of the incumbent by the
machines over what the ballots actually showed.
